Welcome to our job site...and your chance to become part of CONNECT HOUSING!

Becoming Connect Housing...
The Ridings and West Yorkshire Housing Associations both had enviable reputations for raising housing standards, building successful communities and promoting social and economic inclusion. This reputation was matched only by the positive and progressive approach we took to our people, between us achieving Investors in People status and being voted as one of the Top 10 small businesses to work for in the UK. In an exciting new development, we have brought together these two organisations to provide even better homes and services for people right across West Yorkshire as CONNECT HOUSING. We’re proud of the work we do and just as importantly, the people who do it. Presumably you're looking for a great job and we're always looking for great talent. So this site aims to give you all the information you need to decide if we have the right opportunity for you and if being part of CONNECT HOUSING is something you'd like to do!

Best in Class
Don’t just take our word for it – ask The Sunday Times! The Ridings was rightly proud to achieve 9th in The Sunday Times 50 Best Small Companies to Work in the UK in 2004; West Yorkshire were also proud to have been awarded status as an Investor in People.

Jenny Brierley, Connect's Chief Executive said:

“Making sure that Connect Housing is a great place to work is not an optional extra – it’s the key to success of the business. Encouraging and rewarding the amazing skills, commitment and teamwork of our employees brings benefits for our customers, which brings greater job satisfaction for individual staff – everyone wins!”

Getting On...
Our commitment to the training and development of all our employees is up there with the best. Every employee benefits from separate Performance Management and Personal and Career Development reviews each year that identify both short and long term training and development needs. Training is provided through external courses, in-house externally facilitated workshops, distance learning, professional qualifications based courses, on the job training, secondments etc. We also have our own dedicated IT training suite. Additionally, we provide £50 “Blue Sky” learning allowances to every employee, every year. These can be spent on any kind of learning activity, such as language classes, driving lessons, photography courses, flying a helicopter etc.

We also believe in encouraging career development for those that want to and provide opportunities for secondments, acting up roles etc., to allow people to try out new roles and gain new experiences, knowledge and skills.

While we believe it is important for our employees to understand and gain experience in all areas of the business, it is just as important, particularly in the early days, to make an impact in your own team, so make sure when you are applying for a job with us you're truly motivated about undertaking the role you’re interested in.
